MANILA, Philippines — The Maynilad Water Services on Friday announced that parts of Las Piñas City, Bacoor, and Imus will continue to face daily water service interruptions until Nov. 2.

The same areas have been facing water interruptions since June 28, as Maynilad previously announced the replacement of three of 14 ultrafiltration (UF) membranes at the Putatan Water Treatment Plant 2 to maintain “optimum filtration capacity.”

This time, based on Maynilad’s latest advisory, the water interruption — which was supposed to end on August 8 — was extended to November 2 to give way to the replacement of all remaining UF membranes at the Putatan Water Treatment Plant 2.

“[This is] in preparation for the Amihan Season when increases in the turbidity level of the raw water of Laguna Lake typically occur. The membranes are being replaced in batches to minimize the impact on customers of the resulting lower water production,” Maynilad explained.

“We have already completed the replacement of the initial batch of three UF membranes, so we will now proceed with the replacement of the remaining 11 units,” it added.

Maynilad, however, reminded affected residents that the daily interruption may also not happen as scheduled, meaning it may remain uninterrupted during some days within the period.

The water firm explained it depends on the actual volume of water our treatment plants can produce despite the ongoing UF replacement.

Maynilad urged affected customers to store enough water supply and reminded them to let their water run briefly until it clears upon the resumption of water services.

Below is the list of areas that will periodically lose water until November:
