P680,000 shabu seized from elderly man in Pampanga

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Luzon (PDEA 3) operatives arrested on Thursday, Aug. 3, a 63-year-old man for allegedly selling shabu (crystal meth) in Candaba, Pampanga.

In a statement,

PDEA 3 identified the suspect in a statement as Ernesto Cruz, a resident of Candaba.

PDEA agents allegedly confiscated from the suspect some 100 grams of shabu with a street value of P680,000 in a buy-bust operation at Bahay Pare village. The marked peso bills used by the undercover agent in the sting operation were also recovered.

The suspect was arrested and served a four-year prison term for the same offense in the past, PDEA-3 said.

A day earlier, PDEA agents arrested four persons found inside a suspected makeshift drug den in Dau village in this city.

Five small, transparent plastic sachets containing some 10 grams of shabu, amounting to P68,000, and assorted drug paraphernalia were seized during the operation, PDEA-3 said.

All arrested suspects face charges for alleged violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
