Couple, ‘cohort’, nabbed in Bulacao drug buy-bust
Three persons, including a couple, were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Bulacao, Cebu City.
Several packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized from Noel Molit and his live-in partner Jocelyn Badayos.
Also arrested was Jerry Cervantes, the couple’s alleged cohort in the illegal drug activities, said Senior Intelligence 2 Ferdinand A. Kintanar of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7).
Kintanar said PDEA-7 operatives made the arrest last Saturday night after Molit sold an ampule of Nubain, a small pack of suspected shabu, a syringe and rolled tinfoil to a poseur buyer.
The arrest was made at the couple’s rented house which was allegedly used as a drug den, said Kintanar.
“We received many complaints from the residents in the area about their (Molit and Badayos) rampant illegal activity,” said Kintanar.
Kintanar said Molit and Badayos admitted they used “milk shake”, a concoction of Nubain and shabu, but denied they were involved in selling drugs.
The three were detained at the PDEA-7 pending the filing of charges./CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
