Negros Occidental town council declares drag queen persona non grata

BACOLOD CITY — The municipal council of Toboso in Negros Occidental on Tuesday passed a resolution declaring drag queen Amadeus Fernando Pagente alias “Pura Luka Vega” persona non grata.

Councilor Richard Jaojoco, who authored the resolution, said he was offended by the actions of Pagente who seemed to disrespect God.

In a video posted on Twitter, she was seen wearing a Black Nazarene-drag costume while dancing to a remix version of Ama Namin inside a bar.

Jaojoco said he authored the resolution stating that Pagente was not welcome in Toboso as a reminder that what the latter did was wrong.
