SAN Roque Football Club (SRFC) bagged the Ladies Open title in yesterday’s 1st BRO National Football Festival at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
The SRFC lady booters missed out on the girls 15 title on the first day of the tournament also via penalty shootout versus St. Theresa’s College (STC) A.
This time, the SRFC prevailed in another penalty shootout over the University of San Carlos (USC), 2-1, for the crown.
Their finals match ended scoreless after regulation. Scorers for SRFC in the penalty shootout were Alexandra Monica Trebol and Ann Vanessa Fabon.
USC’s goal was courtesy of Gayle Colina.
SRFC’s executive 40 and above team, however, failed to emulate the ladies’ winning ways after they bowed to Hiroshi FC, 3-1, for the title.
Upon mutual agreement among the teams, the semifinals and finals matches in the category were decided by penalty shootouts as it was already late.
Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) reaffirmed its supremacy with the boys 16 title after edging Cebu International School (CIS), 1-0.
The boys 18 title was won by Lo-ok FC via a 3-2 penalty shootout against Don Bosco United Football Club. The regulation match ended scoreless.
Tsuneishi of Balamban went home with the inter BPO title. The team blanked Timex, 2-0.
The men’s open matches were still ongoing as of presstime. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
