CQCU draws match vs Manila All-Japan
THE CEBU QUEEN City United Football Club (CQCU FC) added a point to its accumulative points after drawing its match against Manila All-Japan FC, 1-1, yesterday at the Alabang Country Club in the second round of the United Football League Second Division Tournament.
Despite dominating the game, Schinichi Tanaka was able to find a hole in CQCU FC’s defense at the 40th minute to give Manila All-Japan a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Manila All-Japan spoiled its chances of defeating the Cebuano team after an own-goal allowed CQCU FC to score the equalizer. The goal was credited to Benedict Luis Arriola in the 58th minute.
The draw gave CQCU FC 26 points equivalent to a win-draw-loss record of 8-2-3, still good enough for third place in the division. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
