Sandiganbayan clears ex-PLM president of graft

The Sandiganbayan has acquitted former Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) president Benjamin Tayabas of graft over the purchase of a Hyundai Starex worth P1.11 million in June 2006 without public bidding. In a 40-page decision on July 28, the court’s Third Division also cleared nine of Tayabas’ coaccused who were mostly members of the PLM’s Bids and Awards Committee.
