15 typhoon-damaged roads in Metro Manila to undergo asphalt overlay, reblocking
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to conduct emergency asphalt overlay and reblocking in 15 Metro Manila roads that sustained damage due to Typhoon Egay (international name: Doksuri) and the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”
In an advisory issued on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that roadworks along the stretch of EDSA Busway, from Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue (formerly Buendia Avenue) to Muñoz will be from 10 p.m. on August 4 Friday until 5 a.m. on August 9, Wednesday.
According to MMDA, DPWH will close the following roads for repairs:
- Fronting Hurom / Philam Homes
- Before Benitez St. (after Trinoma)
- HQ BBM (near Octoboy)
- DDT Skytower (Centris Station) – Albano
- Before Guadalupe Bridge (whole length)
- Rockwell Footbridge – Kalayaan (whole length)
- Footbridge before Trinoma – front Landmark
- Quezon City 2nd DEO Office – Centris
- Corinthians – after AFP
- Before MMDA (Sunshine Media Marketing)
- Guadalupe MRT – Guadalupe Bridge
- Footbridge Trinoma – SM North
- Front SM North and Nice Hotel – Muñoz footbridge
- Fronting Ricoa – Avida Towers
- Before Floor Central and Wilcon
Meanwhile, affected motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes:
