Work in gov't offices suspended in Dagupan City, Calasiao on Monday

CALASIAO, Pangasinan – Work in government offices in the municipality of Calasiao and  Dagupan City are suspended on Monday, July 31 due to flooding caused by Typhoon Egay (international name: Doksuri) and the southwest monsoon.

Both local government units have declared a state of calamity last Friday, July 28.

Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez and Calasiao Mayor Kevin Roy Macanlalay issued the work suspension order.

In Executive Order 59-2023 issued on Sunday, Macanlalay clarified, however, that employees in the healthcare, emergency services, disaster relief and response and other similar services are not covered by the work suspension order.

Heavily flooded villages in Calasiao are Mancup, Longos, Lasip, Songkoy, Lumbang, Talibaew and Banaoag.

In Dagupan City, 31 villages, including the central business district, are flooded.
