4 deaths reported Ilocos Sur as typhoon whips Ilocandia

Four fatalities were reported in Ilocos Sur after Typhoon Egay (International name: Doksuri) whipped the Northern Luzon.

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – Four fatalities were reported in Ilocos Sur after Typhoon Egay (International name: Doksuri) whipped the Northern Luzon.

A deaf-mute man died after he sustained a serious head injury while trapped inside his residence in the municipality of Caoayan, Gov. Jeremias “Jerry” Singson said on Thursday.

On Tuesday night, a 31-year-old man from Narvacan town was electrocuted when he touched a grounded wire while moving his pet dog to a safer spot.

A 79-year-old woman’s body was also retrieved in San Vicente town on Thursday after she went missing during Egay’s onslaught.

Rescuers also found the body of an 84-year-old man in Langaoan village in Sta. Maria town, the provincial government said.
