MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has adopted a resolution that sets the schedule for the second regular session of 19th Congress.
This period started last Monday (July 24, 2023) and will end in May 2024.
During Wednesday’s session, House concurrent resolution number 16 was approved through a vote.
The document contains the following legislative calendar:
Commencement of session: July 24, 2023 to September 29, 2023
Adjournment: September 30, 2023 to November 5, 2023
Resumption of session: November 6, 2023 to December 15, 2023
Adjournment: December 16, 2023 to January 21, 2024
Resumption of session: January 22, 2024 to March 22, 2024
Adjournment: March 23, 2024 to April 28, 2024
Resumption of session: April 29, 2024 to May 24, 2024
Adjournment sine die: May 25, 2024 to July 21, 2024
‘Sine die’ means there is no schedule to reconvene.
The resolution was signed by Majority Leader Manuel Dalipe (Zamboanga city 2nd district) and Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan (4Ps party-list).
House resumed its session just before President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. delivered his second State of the Nation Address at the Batasang Pambansa on Monday.
When the agreed legislative calendar ends, 19th Congress has one more year before the midterm elections are held.
