PNP earns COA’s highest audit rating
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP on Monday received an “unmodified opinion” from the Commission on Audit (COA).
This was according to the COA’s official audit report for 2022.
“The COA’s assessment affirms the accuracy of the PNP’s financial statements, portraying the Agency’s financial position as of December 31, 2022, and its financial performance, cash flows, changes in net assets/equity, and budget compliance for the year,” the PNP said in a statement.
This rating, commonly referred to as a clean opinion, is “the highest level of assurance in financial reporting,” according to PNP.
COA is an independent constitutional body mandated to conduct audits of government agencies to ensure the prudent use of public funds to safeguard the interest of the Filipinos. (with Kirsten Segui, Inquirer.net trainee)
