MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reported 1.8 million Filipino families have benefited from 7,000 Kadiwa stores nationwide.

During his second State of the Nation Address at the Batasang Pambansa, Marcos said the Department of Agriculture (DA) program has helped lower the prices of agricultural products and commodities.

(In the past months, we have seen a decrease in the price of goods in various sectors, proving that we can lower the cost of rice, meat, fish, vegetables, and sugar. The Kadiwa store that we revived and launched is a big help.)

(More than 7,000 Kadiwa were formed all over the Philippines, where more than 1.8 million families benefited from the low prices of goods. Overall, almost 700 million worth of commodities were sold, giving employment to the members of more than 3,000 cooperatives and organizations.)

Marcos also his administration has already coordinated with other government agencies to strengthen the program’s implementation, in line with his goal to boost local agricultural production.
