Marcos calls NICA, NSC the ‘silent guardians who protect us’
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. described the National Security Council (NSC) and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) as “silent guardians” who protect the country.
In his speech during the joint anniversary of NSC and NICA on Thursday, Marcos thanked the two agencies for their contributions to national security.
“We know that you are the silent guardians who protect us against all manner of national threats, the steadfast vanguards who keep our enemies at bay, and the faithful watchers ensuring that we do not veer to disorder and to chaos,” Marcos said.
The President acknowledged the different concerns that the country still faces, including threats to its territories and sovereignty, from local communist insurgencies and cybersecurity.
Marcos told the two units that Filipinos depend on them.
