MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA) east of Eastern Samar will trigger rainfall in the Bicol region and Eastern Visayas on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Thursday.
In its Thursday afternoon bulletin, Pagasa said the LPA was spotted some 720 kilometers east of Borongan, Eastern Samar, and may intensify into a storm in the next 48 hours.
(In Luzon, the effect of the LPA will continue and will trigger rain in parts of the Bicol region)
(In the Visayas and Mindanao, rain is also expected, particularly in parts of Eastern Visayas due to the LPA.)
Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will experience relatively fairer weather with hot and humid temperature.
Rain showers and thunderstorms, however, are possible in the afternoon and evening.
No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboards.
