MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has opened its 10th satellite office, this one in the Bicol Region.
“The Office of the Vice President can now serve indigent Filipinos in Region V as it opened its 10th satellite office here Wednesday. The Region V satellite office is located at the ANST III Building on Alternate Road here,” the OVP in a message late Wednesday night.
The OVP said that the satellite office could now make more services accessible from its central office.
According to the OVP, its most requested service was the Medical and Burial (MAB) assistance program.
“From July 2022 to July 13 this year, the MAB program has already served 94,519 beneficiaries and processed the amount of P 861,659,631.06,” the OVP said.
Vice President Sara Duterte said establishing satellite offices would give access to its projects.
According to the OVP, it has satellite offices in the cities of Davao, Zamboanga, Cotabato, Surigao, Cebu, Bacolod, Tacloban, Isabela, and Dagupan.
The opening of the 10th satellite office comes after the Commission on Audit (COA) flagged it for purchasing equipment for its satellite offices without undergoing proper procurement procedures.
In defense, the OVP said that COA did not issue any notice of suspension or disallowance for the purchases.
