MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather with chances of rain showers will prevail in most parts of the country due to southwest monsoon or “habagat,” while the low-pressure area east of northeastern Mindanao, which is expected to become a tropical cyclone within 24 hours, continues to affect parts of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas, according to the state weather bureau.

Citing its 3 p.m. Tuesday bulletin, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last monitored 845 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao and is currently inside the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
