MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau on Saturday said tropical storm Dodong, the country’s fourth cyclone in 2023,  has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

In its bulletin issued at 5 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Dodong was last seen 305 kilometers West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Despite exiting the Philippine boundary, Pagasa noted that the tropical storm will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, locally called “habagat.”
