MANILA, Philippines — Authorities found P1.2 million worth of crystal meth, locally known as shabu, in a motel room in Quezon City, the police said on Wednesday.

In a report, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said its operatives found 180 grams of shabu amounting to P1,224,000 in an unidentified inn on Timog Avenue, Barangay South Triangle on July 11.

According to the police, the motel room attendant found the illegal drugs under a bed mattress and reported this to her supervisor, who then informed the QCPD through the city’s helpline.

The District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) immediately responded and seized the illegal drugs, which were turned over to the DDEU’s Chemistry Section for analysis.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage in the area to identify who left behind the illegal drugs.
