‘Horrific cruelty’: PAWS to sue security guard for hurling dog to death
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (Paws) is “now taking steps in filing a case” of animal cruelty against a security guard who was caught on video throwing a puppy from a pedestrian bridge.
“The guard’s behavior and the act of killing the puppy is certainly what the Animal Welfare Act seeks to punish,” the group said in a statement.
“Paws is committed to file a case and hold accountable the person responsible for this horrific cruelty,” it added.
On Tuesday, several social media users called for justice for the puppy after the security officer allegedly threw the animal to drive the youngsters away.
