DIGOS CITY—Police on Thursday said they arrested one of the suspected leaders of a gun-running syndicate operating in the province during a buy-bust operation in Sta. Cruz town on Wednesday.
Senior Insp. Francis Sonza, commander of the police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in the province, said Brando Medillo Diaya, 30, was collared inside the Sta. Cruz Overland Transport Terminal as he was handing over four Magnum .357 revolvers to an agent who posed as a buyer.
He said the suspect was under CIDG custody and had been charged with violation of the law on illegal possession of firearms before the provincial prosecutor’s office. Orlando B. Dinoy, Inquirer Mindanao
