The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its early morning bulletin that the easterlies is affecting large parts of Visayas and Mindanao while the ridge of high pressure area is affecting Metro Manila and Luzon.

He also said: “Ang consequence po [ng ridge of high pressure area] ay mas kakaunti ang kaulapan, so ibig sabihin mas kakaunti ang pag-ulan at mas direktang tatama ang init ng araw.”

Pagasa likewise reported on Friday that the impact of the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) has decreased. It noted that the ITCZ now only affects the southern portion of Palawan.

Pagasa said that it spotted a cloud cluster within this ITCZ which may further approach the Philippine landmass and bring scattered rain showers in Visayas and Mindanao as early as next week.
