The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Thursday said it had already recovered part of the P26.7 million that was overpaid to some former employees who monetized their leave benefits upon departure.

In a statement, Presidential Communications Secretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil said the PCO had already received refunds amounting to more than P800,000 and expects more than P200,000 in refunds from other former employees.

She said the PCO’s human resource development division has already submitted the statements of assets, liabilities and net worth of the separated officials and employees to the Commission on Audit. —Nestor Corrales
