Bongbong Marcos swears in peace adviser Galvez, BSP Gov. Remolona
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday swore into office Eli Remolona, as the new governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and Carlito Galvez Jr., as Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity.
“Nanumpa kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ngayong araw ang bagong mamumuno sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas na si Governor Eli Remolona at ang nagbabalik muli na kalihim ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity na si Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.,” said the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) in a Facebook post.
(President Ferdinand r. Marcos Jr. on this day swore in Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Eli Remolona and the Secretary of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity has returned, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.).
Marcos appointed international banker Remolona as BSP governor in June, as the term of former Governor Felipe Medalla ended on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Galvez had served as the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity during the term of former President Rodrigo Duterte. A former Philippine Army general, Galvez was also the country’s vaccine czar and head of the National Task Force Against COVID-19 during the previous administration.
