Aquino, Binay still on good terms, but…

LET’S KEEP THEM GUESSING President Aquino listens to Vice President Binay stressing a point during a break in discussions at a ministerial meeting of labor exporting countries and employer nations at the Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City on Thursday. LYN RILLON

It did douse speculations that they were not on good terms.

“I don’t think we can call it a meeting…So it was really more a social call rather than anything else,’’ Communications Secretary Ricky Carandang told reporters when asked why President Benigno Aquino III went to Vice President Jejomar Binay’s office.

Carandang said the two officials did not talk about any issue during the presidential visit.

President Aquino’s visit to Binay’s office came at a time when there was much talk on the political breakup of the two men in light of the vice president’s announcement of his plan to run for president in 2016.
