Man with P3.6-M worth of marijuana falls in SPD ops in Valenzuela
MANILA, Philippines — A 37-year-old man, who yielded P3.6-million worth of marijuana following an anti-drug operation , was arrested in Valenzuela City, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Wednesday.
In a report, SPD director Police Brig. Gen. John Brion Kraft identified the suspect as Johnson Dengyas Segundo, 37, who was arrested by the district’s Drug Enforcement Unit along the North Luzon Expressway near Canumay Bridge, Barangay Canumay, on June 27.
Confiscated from Segundo were 30 kilograms or 21 plastic-wrapped tubes containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and a black sack with more “weeds,” amounting to P3.6 million.
Other pieces of evidence recovered were buy-bust money, a paper bag, a .40 caliber handgun, a magazine, live rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone, and a vehicle.
SPD said authorities are marking the seized items as evidence, while the suspect, currently in police custody, will face complaints for violating the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — Bea Alicia Delariarte, INQUIRER.net intern
