MANILA, Philippines — A parcel containing P4.9 million worth of suspected illegal drugs was seized on Tuesday by authorities at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) in Pasay City.

On Wednesday, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the Naia-Inter-agency Drug Interdiction Task Group discovered an inbound parcel labeled with an “X.”

It contained about 1,460 grams of suspected ecstasy tablets, the agency said.

The package was from Berchem, Belgium, sent by a certain Maria Suarez to Charito Casamello.

Casamello was later apprehended in Las Piñas City.

The parcel also contained headphones, a tumbler, a dress, and a chopping board, PDEA said.

The items are in the agency’s custody while police have detained the suspect.
