Dugong Kampeon card on tonight at Coliseum

Dodie Boy Peñalosa Jr. (4W-0L, 4 KOs) weighed in at 121 ½ lb while his opponent Jeffrey Jimenez (5W-8L-2D, 3 KOs) of Zamboanga City tipped thye scales at 123 lb during yesterday’s official weigh-in at the Games and Amusements Board Office.

Peñalosa and Jimenez will square off in the eight-round main event of “Dugong Kampeon” tonight June 25 at the Cebu Coliseum. In Dodie Jr’s corner as his trainer will be his father and former two division world champion Diosdado ‘Dodie Boy’ Peñalosa Sr.

The younger Peñalosa’s last fight was in April at the Cebu City Sports Institute Arena in Pasil where he knocked out Roel Bacquiano in the first round.

For the supporting bouts, Marvin Mabait weighed in at 117 lb while Aljun Salogaol came in at 118 lb. They are scheduled to fight for 10 rounds.

Sonny Katiangdagho (131 lb) will face Johnjier Torbiso (129 ½ lb) in a four-round bout, Junie Salogaol (113 lb) will fight John Edu Torbiso (116 ½ lb) in another four rounder.

Jaime Bermiso stepped on the scales at 104 lb but his opponent Renren Tesorio was not able to make it to the weigh-in because of the continuing bad weather around the country. He will be weighed once he arrives in Cebu. The weigh-in was supervised by Celso Miranda of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).

Promoter and former two division world champion Gerry Peñalosa informed during the press conference last Thursday that fans can get in the general admission or bleacher section for free courtesy of Rep. Manny Pacquiao. Fight time starts at 6 p.m.
