New Palace appointee Gadon still facing cyber libel, safe spaces cases

MANILA, Philippines — Newly appointed Palace appointee Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon is still facing cyber libel and safe spaces cases, according to veteran journalist Raissa Robles on Monday.

Back in 2021, Gadon verbally assaulted Robles, who was only one of the many victims of his cussing tirades. This prompted the Supreme Court to suspend him and ordered him to explain why he should not be disbarred.

“Yes. My Safe Spaces Act and cyber libel cases against Gadon are still very much alive,” said Robles in a Twitter post.

Robles said that upon the advice of her counsel Sandy Olaso-Coronel, a Petition for Review was filed at the Department of Justice (DOJ) on June 6.

According to the DOJ, a Petition for Review is an appeal from the judgments, resolutions, and orders of Provincial and City Prosecutors during cases under preliminary investigation or reinvestigation.

Malacañang on Monday announced Gadon’s appointment as the new Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation.
