MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Grace Poe on Saturday called on the country’s public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers to seize the opportunity to further hone their skills on the road by enrolling in the “Tsuper Iskolar Program” and ensure better safety for their passengers.
“Similar to a vehicle’s maintenance, there needs to be a constant check on the driver’s competency and awareness of road safety,” Poe said.
Poe made the call as the Department of Transportation and the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority, which are implementing the program, allowed PUV drivers to now take the free training program online.
“The training will brace our drivers for a lifetime of safer driving,” said Poe, chair of the Senate Committee on Public Services.
