3.4-magnitude quake rattles Masbate

MANILA, Philippines – A 3.4-magniture earthquake shook parts of Masbate province early Thursday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

In a report by Radyo Inquirer 990AM, the earthquake, which occurred at 4:15 a.m. and felt mainly in Masbate City, was caused by movements in the Philippine Fault.

No injuries or damage to properties were reported so far.

On Wednesday, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake jolted Calatagan, Batangas. The tectonic quake was recorded at 11:48 a.m., 13 kilometers northwest of Calatagan.
