ITCZ-induced rain to continue over Palawan, Mindanao – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is forecast to continue bringing rain over several parts of the country on Friday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Sa Palawan dahil sa epekto ng ITCZ patuloy pa rin ‘yung mga kalat kalat na pagulan at pagkulog,” said weather specialist Rhea Torres in Pagasa’s latest forecast.

(In Palawan due to the effect of the ITCZ, scattered rain and thunderstorms will continue.)

The same weather will likewise prevail over Visayas and parts of Mindanao, specifically Northern Mindanao and Caraga area.

“Meanwhile sa southern portion ng Mindanao as well as sa Zamboanga Peninsula improving weather na po tayo ngunit may tiyansa pa rin ng localized thunderstorms,” said Torres.

(Meanwhile in the southern portion of Mindanao as well as in the Zamboanga Peninsula, we have improving weather but there is still a chance of localized thunderstorms.)

According to Torres, the rest of Luzon, on the other hand, will experience generally fair weather.

No low pressure area or storms are currently being monitored within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility
