The reforestation project of the Philippine Army’s Armor Division and the nongovernment organization Tarlac Heritage Foundation (THF) is expanding to include food-growing.

In an event last Monday, top officials involved in the project—Maj. Gen. Facundo Palafox, head of the Philippine Army Armor Division, and THF co-founder Isa Cojuangco Suntay—led the planting of water spinach in part of the project site.

The vegetables are being grown for the consumption of soldiers in the Armor Division camp and for distribution to Kadiwa stores.

Several hectares of the project site are being planted with tree seedlings.
