Boy mauls conductor

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy surrendered to the police after beating a jeepney conductor in barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City.

The boy said he just got even with the conductor for punching him in the face  for not paying the jeepney fare.

Police said the boy and his friend boarded a jeepney  in Junquera Street last Sunday morning and got down on Gorordo Avenue.

Jeepney conductor Jill Salunoy, 35, stopped them and asked for their fare.

When the boy said he had no money to pay,  this  irked the conductor who punched the boy before returning  to the jeepney.

The boy waited for the jeepney to pass by in the area again. Upon spotting the conductor, he took a piece of wood and struck  Salunoy.

The blow left  Salunoy unconscious. The conductor was taken to the Perpetual Succour Hospital.

The boy went home after the incident and was later convinced by his mother to surrender.

Police said a charge for frustrated murder will be filed against the boy.
