MANILA, Philippines — The country’s COVID-19 positivity rate decreased to 10.3 percent as of June 17, according to OCTA Research fellow Guido David.
In a Twitter post on Saturday evening, David said that the positivity rate nationwide decreased slightly from 10.7 percent on June 16 to 10.3 percent the day after.
The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 693 new cases on Saturday, including 144 of which were from the National Capital Region (NCR).

In an earlier post, David pointed out that aside from Metro Manila, other provinces and regions with the most cases as of June 16 were Iloilo, Misamis Oriental, Pampanga, Cavite, Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Pangasinan, Bulacan, Laguna, Negros Occidental, and Batangas.

David projected 600 to 700 new cases nationwide on June 18.
Based on DOH’s COVID-19 tracker, the the Philippines has logged 4,158,584 cases (9,005 active cases), 4,083,097 recoveries, and 66,482 deaths.
