MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila dropped below the 10 percent mark to 9.4 percent as of June 13, Octa Research said on Thursday.

“It was at 14.6 percent on June 6,” Octa Research fellow Guido David said in a Twitter post.

“Over the same period, hospital bed occupancy in the National Capital Region decreased from 25.5 percent to 24.1 percent. NCR remained at low risk,” David added.

On Wednesday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 468 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total active infections to 9,843.

In early May, the World Health Organization said the COVID-19 pandemic, which had plagued the world for over three years, is no longer a global health emergency.

The DOH, however, said this does not mean the health crisis is over.
