Classes suspended in Calatagan, Batangas after 6.3 earthquake
MANILA, Philippines — Classes in all levels have been suspended in Calatagan, Batangas Thursday morning following a magnitude 6.3 earthquake, Mayor Peter Oliver Palacio announced.
“Classes in all levels, public and private are suspended in Calatagan, Batangas today, June 15, 2023 to give way for the initial assessment on the effects of the earthquake on school and public buildings and other critical infrastructures,” Palacio said in a statement.
The earthquake, which struck at 10:19 a.m. had a depth of 119 kilometers, while its epicenter was traced some 15 kilometers southwest of Calatagan, according to state seismologists.
