LRT, MRT, PNR operations resume after 6.3 quake
MANILA, Philippines — Train operations in Metro Manila have resumed following a brief suspension for safety checks in the wake of a magnitude 6.3 earthquake that jolted Calatagan, Batangas, and parts of the capital region.
“As of 11:39 am, operations at LRT-1, LRT-2, MRT-3 and PNR have all resumed following a magnitude 6.2 earthquake in Calatagan, Batangas that was felt in Metro Manila,” the Department of Transportation said in its advisory.
The MRT-3 management said no “abnormalities” have been found within their infrastructure.
The suspension of operations was due to the magnitude 6.3 tectonic earthquake recorded at around 10:19 am 15 kilometers southwest of the Calatagan, Batangas, with a depth of 119 kilometers, according to state seismologists.
