CEBU CITY, Philippines – Four persons posing as customers robbed a forwarding firm near the police headquarters in Mandaue City and fled with more than P300,000 past 8 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.
Inspector Ramil Morpos, chief of the Mandaue City Police Office’s theft and robbery section, said the robbers pretended to be customers when they entered the APL Logistics, located at the corner of A. Soriano Avenue and J. Briones Street in Looc, just a few meters from the Mandaue police headquarters.
The four then declared a robbery and took P360,000 in cash from the company’s vault.
The robbers, who were armed with .45-caliber pistols, also took the valuables of the three employees. They fled on two motorcycles.
Despite the firm’s proximity to the police station, Morpos said, the incident was not reported immediately to authorities because the security guard was tied and the other employees were frightened.
