MANILA, Philippines — The weekly COVID-19 positivity rate nationwide and in Metro Manila have decreased, according to OCTA Research fellow Guido David.
The nationwide positivity rate dropped from 14.8 (as of June 10) percent to 13.2 percent (June 11) while the Metro Manila positivity rate dipped from 14.6 percent (June 8) to 11.6 percent (June 10).
In a Twitter post, David likewise said that the positivity rate also decreased in Bataan (32 percent), Batangas (16.2 percent), Benguet (16.1 percent), Bulacan (12.5 percent), Cavite (16.3 percent), Isabela (40.6 percent), Laguna (18.1 percent), Palawan (17.9 percent), Pangasinan (19.4 percent), Quezon (24.1 percent), Rizal (12.5 percent), and Zambales (17.5 percent).

Meanwhile, positivity rates increased in Cagayan (28.8 percent), Camarines Sur (34.9 percent), La Union (19.5 percent), Oriental Mindoro (48.3 percent), Pampanga (29.9 percent), and Tarlac (23.5 percent).
The nationwide COVID-19 positivity rate also dropped from 14.8 percent on June 10 to 13.2 percent on Sunday.
Based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) latest data, David said there were 841 new cases nationwide. Of that number, 240 were logged in Metro Manila, 44 in Cavite, 40 in Iloilo, 37 in Bulacan, 35 in Rizal, 30 in Isabela, 25 in Pampanga and 24 in Laguna,

David said that given the latest DOH figures, from 600-700 new cases are expected on June 12.
As of June 12, the country’s total caseload is 4,115,031 – 11,202 active cases, 4,077,384 recoveries, and 66,481 deaths, according to DOH.
