12 houses destroyed in Mandaue fire
CEBU CITY, Philippines—At least 12 houses were razed when fire hit a residential area in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City Tuesday afternoon.
Charles Tarman Jr. of the barangay’s rescue group said the fire started at the Basubas compound.
The Mandaue City Fire department responded to the incident at 3:50 p.m.
The fire was placed under control at 4:15 p.m.
Edwin Veloso, a village watchman of Tipolo, said the fire reportedly started at the house of Cocoy Basubas.
Veloso said there were conflicting reports as to the cause of the fire.
