Suharto Mangudadatu is new Tesda chief
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday appointed former Sultan Kudarat Gov. Suharto Mangudadatu as the new director general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).
Mangudadatu replaces Danilo Cruz, who was appointed Tesda chief in July last year.
Tesda, an attached agency of the labor department, is the government’s technical vocational education and training authority.
It has a P16-billion budget under the 2023 General Appropriations Act.
In a statement, the Presidential Communications Office cited his “leadership abilities and dedication to public service.” After serving as mayor of Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat, from 1998 to 2004, Mangudadatu was elected to the House, serving two separate terms.
