MANILA, Philippines — The nationwide COVID-19 positivity rate further decreased to 17.8% on Monday, from the day before’s 18.1 %, said Octra Research fellow Dr. Guido David.
The rate reflected the Department of Health’s (DOH) daily COVID-19 tally where it registered 1,104 new infections, 324 of which were logged in Metro Manila.
“Projecting 600 to 700 new cases on June 6, 2023,” David said in a Twitter post.
Based on the DOH’s online COVID-19 Tracker, the country’s total caseload is now at 4,149,505 with 13,243 active cases, 4,069,783 recoveries, and 66,476 deaths.
Previously, DOH officer in charge Maria Rosario Vergeire explained that increases and decreases in the number of infections are expected due to the lower number of tests conducted and the country’s increased mobility.
