MANILA, Philippines — Another agency has been shut down by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) for alleged illegal recruitment of aspiring migrant workers and for costly payment schemes.

Migrant Secretary Susan Ople on Friday led a team of DMW personnel in closing the offices of OVM Visa Assistance and Travel Consultancy located at Barangay Pasong Tamo in Quezon City.

The DMW said the agency owned by a certain Vilma Rosario was operating without a license and offering job applicants jobs in Malta and Poland.

The agency was charging as much as P420,000 in processing fees. “Applicants were told they need to pay a downpayment of P60,000 upon submission of the requirements,” the DMW said.
