Palace bares new appointees

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed former Bureau of Customs Deputy Commissioner Agaton Teodoro Uvero as assistant secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry, and retired Police Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo as a director at the Land Transportation Office.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed former Bureau of Customs Deputy Commissioner Agaton Teodoro Uvero as assistant secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry, and retired Police Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo as a director at the Land Transportation Office.

Uvero, who earlier served during the presidency of Benigno S. Aquino III, is an expert on international trade, customs, logistics and supply chain, according to the government’s Official Gazette.

Montejo, on the other hand, was a former director of the Philippine National Police in Western Visayas and chief of the Quezon City Police District.

The President also designated Perla Leoncio as Director IV of the Presidential Communications Office, and named Marlon Alagao and Glenda Relova as assistant secretaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Aldrine Fermin and Youssef Kahlil Velasco were also appointed directors of the DSWD, while Reynaldo Alconcel, Jonathan Araullo ,and Editha Babaran were named directors of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

President Marcos also appointed lawyer Jovy Bernabe as acting head and chief executive officer of the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. —NESTOR CORRALES
