Guiller Celestial’s condition went from bad to worse on March 24 after he was exposed to the stink coming from a creek near his family’s house.
The 4-year-old boy who is suffering from leukemia was rushed to the hospital after he started vomiting.
“He was given a 50/50 chance of survival. His pulse stopped and his blood pressure went down to almost zero,” his mother, Rosanna, told the Inquirer.
Fortunately, Guiller recovered although doctors at the Philippine General Hospital had to reset the third of his 10 scheduled chemotherapy sessions to April 20 to allow his hemoglobin and blood platelet count to go up.
Rosanna, meanwhile, asked for help from Inquirer readers in shouldering the P96,000 her son needs for the seven remaining chemotherapy sessions.
Her husband, Guilbert, works as a mason and is the only breadwinner in the family.
Those who want to help Guiller can reach Rosanna at 0929-4997586. Donations can be coursed through her BPI account (account number 3169186892, account name Rosanna Celestial).
