Snake at NGCP switchyard in Bohol town causes outage
TAGBILARAN CITY — A snake found at the switchyard of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) substation in Corella town, Bohol province caused a power outage on Thursday morning, June 1, in some towns.
The NGCP said the outage affected Loon, Maribojoc, Cortes, Antequera, Corella, and Sikatuna, which are served by distribution utility Bohol I Electric Cooperative (Boheco 1).
Three short line trippings occurred at 8:23 a.m., 8:27 a.m., and 8:33 a.m.
“We request your patience and understanding on this matter as this is beyond our control,” said the NGCP in a statement.
Meanwhile, an emergency power interruption would affect parts of Bohol and Tagbilaran City from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday.
NGCP said there were critical activities for the Tagbilaran Substation Upgrading Project, which would affect the Corella-Tagbilaran-Garcia 69kV line.
Affected areas include Dampas and San Isidro substations served by distribution utility Bohol Light Company, Inc. and Loay town, and in Panglao, the Bolod and Lourdes Substations in Panglao town served by Boheco 1
