21 towers, 5,000 condo units to rise in Zamboanga del Sur
PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur–The Zamboanga del Sur provincial government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) to implement President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH).
DHSUD-IX Regional Director Roland Eta and Governor Victor Yu signed the MOU Thursday, with 1st District Representative Divina Grace Yu, Provincial Human Resource Management Officer Cherry Nodado and Provincial Planning and Development Officer Roxanne Ruth Cedeño present.
The 4PH project will be situated on an eight-hectare property owned by the provincial government in Purok Mahayahay, Barangay Dao.
Eta said the project, aimed at addressing the country’s 6.5-million-unit housing gap, is open to all homeless individuals, particularly as a relocation site for informal settler families and those living in danger zones.
The Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program plans to construct 1 million housing units per year until 2028.
Yu revealed that the initial plan for the Zamboanga del Sur project involves constructing 21 ten-story towers comprising a total of 5,000 units.
The design will include amenities such as a commercial area, recreational facilities, and business offices.
Eta explained that with the national government’s subsidy, qualified beneficiaries will pay approximately ₱3,000 per month per condo unit for up to 30 years through the Pag-IBIG Fund.
