Bacolod chicken inasal fest to feature longest grilling station

This city is set to celebrate the three-day Chicken Inasal Festival from May 26 to 28.

BACOLOD CITY — The longest grilling station will be the highlight of the three-day Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival that kicks off at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 26, at North Capitol Road in this city.

Councilor Celia Flor said the event would be followed at 6 p.m. by a beer tasting and pairing of chef’s chicken inasal at the North Capitol Road and Capitol Lagoon Park.

From a 300-meter grill in previous years, she said 2023’s longest grilling station would reach 320 meters where thousands of chicken inasal would be cooked starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, at Megaworld’s The Upper East.

There will be 1600 subsidized chicken meals for identified beneficiaries such as the residents of St. Vincent’s Home for the Aged, Bacolod Boys’ Home, Bacolod Girls’ Home, and senior citizens.

“The rest of the grilled chicken will be up for sale to the general public,” Flor said.

A barangay inasal cook-off at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, will be participated by 15 barangays at the Manokan Country.

A food fest and nightly entertainment will be held in the Manokan Country, The Upper East, and North Capitol Road.

Flor said the city government’s budget for the festival is P1.5 million but there would also be funds from sponsors.
