MANILA, Philippines — Four Japanese nationals wanted for theft in Tokyo were deported on Wednesday, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said.

The BI identified the deported aliens as Fujita Kairi, 24; Kumai Hitomi, 25; Terashima Haruma, 28; and Sato Shohei, 32.

The BI’s Fugitive Search Unit operatives collared Fujita and Kumai in Parañaque City last March 10. Both of them were suspected to be involved in the “Luffy” robbery case in Japan, the BI said.

Terashima was intercepted at the agency’s satellite office in a mall in Taguig City  after attempting to extend his tourist visa last February 28, while Sato was apprehended along Newport Blvd. in Pasay on April 24.

“The four have been included in the BI’s blacklist of aliens, effectively barring their return to the country,” the BI said.
